Longitudinal Patterns in Fish Assemblages after Long-Term Ecological Rehabilitation in the Taizi River, Northeastern China

Fish assemblages inhabiting the Taizi River basin have been severely degraded by anthropogenic disturbances, which weaken basin’s ecological function and limited revitalization of northeast industrial base. Long-term rehabilitation has conducted to restore fish fauna improve habitat conditions. To explore distribution patterns key factors after this rehabilitation, a comprehensive detailed survey was twice in 2021 at 33 sampling sites River. A total 50 species from 13 families were collected, dominant P. lagowskii, Z. platypus, C. auratus parva. Compared results reported over last decade, increasing trend richness change longitudinal organization detected. The abundance variation for auratus, parva, R. ocellatus H. leucisculus along upstream downstream axis contributed most pattern. Species replacement addition might jointly caused changes fauna, but main underlying mechanism. canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) show that structure pattern mainly shaped cultivated land coverage urban coverage. Our study provides reference future fish-based bioassessment implications region-specific management
